GoBites took over two years to develop, but we think they were worth the wait. We wanted to create eating tools that many different types of people can use in many different situations, and we wanted to make them simple, extremely durable, and a joy to use. We're confident that we've achieved all of that and more with GoBites.
Uno is our take on what a hybrid utensil should be. We've evolved the tool in notable ways, with smarter tool ends and a more comfortable form. We think it will find a home with ultra-light backpackers, people craving simplicity, the space-conscious, and those on a budget.
Duo is a decidedly clever two-piece fork and spoon set. A unique interlock mechanism allows the tools to nest in an extremely compact form for transport and storage. Each tool has been carefully sized to be comfortable when used separately and to fit together end-to-end making a single tool (for rehydrated meal bags, deep containers, etc.). As a single tool, Duo is longer than any comparable "long reach" utensil.
Trio is our premium, full-featured offering, with an extended-length spoon, fork, and knife (yes, that actually cuts). The whole set comes in a beautiful case that keeps everything organized, clean, and at the ready. We spent months designing the utensil positioning to create a case size that seems impossibly thin. Small, considered touches like a metal bottle opener in the knife and a custom, wedge/pointed toothpick round out the ultimate on-the-go eating set.
All three GoBites have received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award, which basically means we're not the only ones who think they're pretty awesome. GoBites are made with a special BPA-free nylon material that is amazingly strong--strong enough to back them with a lifetime warranty.

Can I bring a Trio on an airplane, specifically in my carry-on luggage?
We believe GoBite Trios fully comply with carry-on restrictions and can be taken on planes without issue. TSA prohibits knives "except for plastic or round bladed butter knives." GoBite Trios fit into this exception.
What's a "Red Dot" award?
The Red Dot Award is an international product design prize awarded by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany. At hip design parties where people wear a lot of black and thick-rimmed glasses, the Red Dot is kind of a big deal (the rest of the world doesn't really care about it). For 60 years, Red Dot has recognized the best in product design, concept design and communication design. Winning work is presented in the Red Dot Design Museum in the historical Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in Essen. The 2015 Red Dot competition had more than 4,900 entries from 56 countries. Each GoBites product (Uno, Duo, and Trio) was submitted separately and each won its own Red Dot. That's three--count 'em three!--Red Dots.
Is there any design award the GoBites haven't won?
Well, not yet. So far all three GoBites have won the prestigious Red Dot, IDEA, and Spark awards for excellence in design. Most people aren't familiar with these awards, but they're the kind of thing that designers that wear all black and have fancy glasses get in a tizzy over. It was no small feat to try to reinvent something as ubiquitous and fundamental as a spoon and fork, and we're stoked that others have recognized our efforts.
Two years in development? For some plastic utensils? Really?
Yeah, it took a while, but we tend to sweat the details. Good things come to those who wait...er, eat.
